Poppyseed Bread
The bread
- Mix:
- 3 cups flour
- 11⁄2 tsp. salt
- Add:
- 11⁄2 tsp baking powder
- 3 TB poppy seed
- Then add:
- 3 beaten eggs
- 11⁄3 cup oil
- 21⁄4 cups sugar
- 11⁄2 tsp. vanilla
- 11⁄2 tsp. almond extract
- 11⁄2 cup milk
Bake at 350° F: small loaves 45 minutes, large loaves 60 minutes.
Glaze for bread
- 1⁄4 cup orange juice
- 1⁄2 tsp. butter extract
- 1⁄2 tsp. almond extract
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
Heat to boil, pour over hot loaves of bread.
